Absolute GEX for BTC and ETH

Absolute GEX is the sum of the absolute GEX values across all strikes. The higher it is, the more active the market-maker positioning and the stronger their market influence.

What is Absolute GEX

Unlike net gamma (where positives and negatives cancel), Absolute GEX sums the magnitudes of GEX across all strikes. It measures the overall "mass" of options positioning around the current price.

A high Absolute GEX means market makers hold a large gamma book, so their hedging has a stronger effect on BTC. A low value means options have weaker influence on price.

How to use it

Absolute GEX helps judge how much to rely on options levels right now: when it is high, the Call/Put Walls and Gamma Flip tend to hold better. In Crypto Metrics Pro it is computed from Deribit data.

FAQ

Regular (net) GEX is signed and nets out; Absolute GEX sums magnitudes, showing the total strength of positioning.

It shows how strongly options positioning influences the market: when high, options levels are more reliable.
